me and my mil community my picture of me interacting with it starting as a kid with kind kids and families direct questions to get me to self sufficiency now nostalgic appreciation for brother hood
so my short glimpse of life in the military a cool story was once at the va seeing a guy with a tuscgee airman hat talking to him for a second it was cool when he said where he'd been and it lit up like a video game map the names he said like 'panama' i think was one
so there's the whole system for formal inclusion with the military there's the social work stuff too so it's like active duty was a temporary thing i went through then there's be the gatherings the common grounds like the grills by the barracks or the smokers or weekend partying ramping up and the day room or other stuff the unit the motor pool um
but now that's gone and i am retired (and disabled too) so it's like one good source of joy starting off early was the am vets thrift store there's one on sherwood hall lane so that was um the veterans seeing the other generations too and other charming depictions of them some rough people maybe 5-10 years older than me them surviving and thriving then the parents age people and grand parents too all that stuff and always an answer and making it through
more so there's the trips my mom and i will take to fort belvoir um the excitement of going on post the fun of people watching seeing different people at different places the places we'll stop at the class 6 the post exchange the commissary um seeing beneficiaries the different people on base mil families enlisted nco's retirees officers national guard contractors
another was how cool it can be living somewhere else and even going through tradoc the training program so getting allowed to go off post hotel parties the skid row intensity of the range of things the army stationing and the outside the gate harshness um
so places i'd been georgia augusta um schweinfurt germany um fort meade maryland for dinfos um south carolina for ft jackson coed bct um having my civilian clothes a pair of skinny levi's before i put on more weight um later the healthcare and the wtb seeing people whose stories actually could make sense when you listened to the explanations the 'puerto rican summer' getting invited there and reading hst the rum diaries um the mil cities right next to the base
the funny sense of humor about like going to wegman's it's right next to it but i am not in anymore so having freedom and privileges and another was how cool the dc va medical center could be all the people there and how i said some people could have a little arrested development and still look like they were a teenager getting mall clothes that coolness and the brotherhood
so where's the opportunity one was how cool oktoberfest was the german drinking event um so wounded warrior project will have activities um seeing neighbors who i'd deduce were va home owners them staying their for forever and what i'd notice about them um in public school i think one could be survivors and another mil brats
so yeah the hanging out me and my family our activities and moderation um
all the little extra programs blue star mothers veterans of foreign wars disabled american veterans am vets care givers motorcyclists groups
