 so first some of my starters were i went to vcu a reputable art school where i first dabbled with some producing initially a verizon flip phone photographs (that to my knowledge are gone) so then later another was i went to dinfos (defense information school) at fort meade that was where i got my official military occupational skill certificate for journalism and public affairs (but it took a while i actually initially failed out) um i thought some people might get offended about the resume behind the work (not taking pictures in public) um in high school i did have experience too like using desktop computers

so not being stopped by excuses and producing being careful about hearsay warnings and finding ways to pay on this like going to the movie theatre um i met the director rory sheridan and others they had concerts i attended 

so here's what to do get a (i prefer sony with a usb cable) camcorder or use your smart phone so the equipment use a desktop computer with video editing software so accumulating clips you can start at home where it is safe from complaints then from there you can focus on the family holidays as one topic like a thanksgiving movie or a christmas movie (also if you are comfortable you can try sneaking some shots in public while avoiding getting complaints) so first actually do it actually press the record button and build up clips maybe try 10 second clips (and be aware of some little subtleties like if the camera literally shows peoples secrets or flatulent holding or that being maybe the flash does that more) and get lots of little things (get different angles get still frames if the conversations are confusing mute it) even pseudo cutscenes to set the mood of the movie so after you have done that put it on the computer where you can save a  back up of it and do more movies throughout time and save a final copy where you can upload to youtube facebook (i believe both of those do not cost money) and other places to have it viewable by others

set your workspace and make it cool and used 

familiarizing yourself with todays technology so paying up front for the equipment that you can use as do it yourself for entertainment and hobby thinking of that centering on 

so start cut the event into scenes get the build up to each season get the family arriving the meal happening the lounging the decorations the activities and in public maybe you can sneak some shots that'll add more flavor and zest to your movie stand in different parts of the house and get different perspectives and let your family know this is important to you and get support and help with that 

so no budget things if you have circles of friends document it make content be a producer 

so other things that may help out be a film buff cinephile watch dvds or use cable study up on movies collect dvds pay attention to directors um maybe some budget spending helping you read magazines i heard once henry rollins say the magazines really work and that being an answer so use studiobinder look up names like james cameron quintin tarantino spike lee john singleton stephen speilberg martin scorsese wes anderson francis ford coppola irwin winkler joseph gordon levit clint eastwood think of california new york the british italian foods ghettoes soundtracks military
