 my time with my first unit so the flight to germany landing in frankfurt a shuttle ride and eventually making it to schweinfurt so a little quickly learning i was in a 'third world country' the technology the everyday life

so the sunlight being different everything different my time in processing the tour around the base the two sides conn and ledward the old nazi buildings some still having swastikas on them um hearing a rumor our base would be shutting down soon and a few years later it was closed in a news story i saw online wondering about where i once was

when i first went awol thinking if i didn't i'd lose my legs the war on terror so money i saved up when the joseph gordon levitt movies were in theatres inception and looper um the wall outlet the architecture the not as tall buildings the 'bavarian' style buildings the bathroom

the guitar instrument i bought from the music store having cigarettes to smoke the gypsies nearby the turkish selling gyros or donor kebabs the morning formations in the army morning pt our nco's or sergeants getting vfw certified along the way

writing my whole albums before later getting back to georgia and being medicated having my guitar case with what little belongings i still had donating everything before i left thinking some women here and there had my kids while i was overseas escaping the hospitals a few times and being on my own better than bad outcomes that could've happened

the outside all the people the different country the different regime the deustchland spelling and language the city and the countryside photographic pictures i took the college town wurzburg making it to munich seeing my aunt and her husband

the food fruits honey dew the breakfast spreads bacon eggs and at the hotel salami pretzel bread eating lots of chocolate my moleskin notebook i wrote my book in my old barracks room the first months there going to the nightclub foolishly thinking i could walk home and doing that a few times to save money going to the brothel um

the european way the clothes the fashion the american side hearing germany was like usa in the 1980s the trip we took to spain passing through france on the way there days at the motorpool or the office seeing the different cities when the greenday song came out boulevard of broken dreams when i got hospitalized again the tv the meals served

when i'd use the euro coins and cash times out on the town the different night clubs the mad the cinema bar the rock fabriq going to the post exchange on base and the other housing for couples and families them having the commissary over there the city streets the cobblestone the skatepark by the bridge the workers the drinkers blue overalls um
